May 24 Fun with the kidsTodays Mood(s): Tired, calm, relaxed
It is cold and wet here today, so i'm just planning on curling up on the couch with the girls and watching movies all day. Having snacks while doing so, and just enjoying some time together. Tori and I already started by watching You've Got Mail together before Miss Elizabeth woke up. It's been raining here for days actually, and i'm hoping the weather on Monday will be nice. I have to take Miss Elizabeth and Patrick to the ACH for Patrick to have another RSV shot. He was supposed to be done with the last one he had, but they called me yesterday saying that the season was running long this year and they want him to come in for another. A few weeks ago, the kids and I went out on a family event with Lasting Impressions. It's a program that is run for families where one or more family members struggle with mental illness. They hold events for the families to be able to get out and socialize and meet other people, and they also have family mentors who work with your family finding ways to better understand and work with their mental illnesses. I love it! It has been such a great help for me, and the kids and John have come to understand so much more. So for this event, we went to a place called Fire Escape. It is a place you go to and you pick a ceramic item, paint it however you desire. They provide all the supplies, and instructions on how to paint it for those who have never done it before. When you are finished it, you leave it there and they clear glaze and fire it in the kiln for you. Then a few days later you can go pick it up. The group painted tiles and we finally got ours back. Here are our creations:
This one is Camerons. He wants to go back and paint two more making it a set of three. One with a red background and black and white lines, and another with the white background with red and black lines.
This is the one Tori did. She gave it to me and it even has a title, it's called "The Mom"
This one is the one Miss Elizabeth made. She had me put her name on it.
Last is mine. Four hearts joined together to show unity, and a pair of baby feet. It's supposed to represent my four children.
Anyways, i'm off for now to go watch some more movies with my girls. June 14 Mom, Sis, Me, and a concert!!!!! John Mellencamp is coming to town!! I was so excited when i found this out. The first person i thought of was my mother because she would absolutely love this concert. I was talking with my sister about it ( not the one i usually babysit for, but the other one), and she had just found out about it too. She phoned my mom and they discussed it and they decided to get tickets....3 of them! (So the three of us will be having a night out together in August June 10 Wedding anniversary Well in two days is our 6th wedding anniversary. We have been together for 12 years now though, and my heart still swells with love when i look at my husband. This man who acts so tough to the outside world....but surprises me with little chocolate hearts and love notes in my pockets. This man who doesn't get embarassed by the love notes he finds in his lunch bag.....no he actually BRAGS about them! This man who complains he's getting old...but rolls around on the floor playing with his children and laughing. This man who works so hard all day to support his family...and is greeted at the door with hugs and kisses from them. Family time is important to us but we also make sure that we have time alone together every day, and that is just as important. After the kids go to bed is "mommy and daddy" time. During this time we talk about our days, or we cuddle and watch a movie, or we share a bowl of ice cream with one spoon, or we play a game together. No matter what we make sure we have this special time of the day together. I love you honey!! May 16 Family TimeI took the day off work yesterday because we had some tickets to the circus. I'm so glad i did.....we had so much fun and it was wonderful to spend the whole day together. We spent a lot of money and the kids got spoiled but oh well.....it was the family time that was important to me. I can't wait til i'm on maternity leave and get to do it more often. As for the belly....it's getting bigger every day now it seems lol. I'm at the point where not only can everyone feel the baby move....but we can see it move in there. 17 more weeks to go and as much as i love being pregnant....i'm getting anxious to meet this new little one who is hiding his/her identity!! Still have a few things to get though since it's been so long that i didn't have any baby stuff left lol. |
